The comedian Steven Wright once asked, "If you saw a heat wave, would you wave back?" Well that's exactly what members of our club did at our regular Tuesday night practice and Thursday night jitney. Play spite the heat and humidity and everyone had a good time. The ice cream and dessert after our Thursday night game were particularly welcome. Thanks to Ellen Blastock and Edith Cavin for the snacks.

This week several Norwich teams went to the Dufferin Lawn Bowling Club in Brantford to help them celebrate their 100th anniversary. Congratulations Duff erin!

On Saturday, the district playdowns for men's and ladies' singles were held in Simcoe. Linda Hawken, of the Norwich club, came in second in the ladies' division after a very exciting and hard-fought game with Lyndsay McGhee of Thamesford. Congratulations, Linda!! Roger Abraham, district chair and Norwich club president, organized the event with the help of the Simcoe Club. A special thanks goes to Christine Booth of Simcoe for making all the participants feel welcome.

There is an open invitation to anyone who would like to try lawn bowling every Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at the Norwich Lawn Bowling Club.
